Multiple polls show that a majority of voters across the state — from Newport to Burillville — support making marijuana legal for adults 21 and older. See below for detailed results.

Recent polls:

A January 2017 poll from Public Policy Polling found that Rhode Islanders support regulating and taxing marijuana 59 to 36. Individual polls of residents in various Rhode Island cities and towns also found majority support across the state:

Statewide: 59% support, 36% opposed, 4% not sure

Providence: 62% support, 31% opposed, 8% not sure

Cranston: 58% support, 41% opposed, 1% not sure

Newport: 64% support, 33% opposed, 3% not sure

Warwick: 61% support, 35% opposed, 4% not sure

North Kingstown: 53% support, 45% opposed, 3% not sure

Burrillville/Glocester: 70% support, 27% opposed, 3% not sure
